Abstract. The studies were conducted under conditions of Western Siberia in 2017–2019. The purpose was to assess the promising forms of green bean by valuable breeding traits to create new varieties. The studied samples were selected from a population created by the method of classical hybridization of highly productive varieties of beans of foreign breeding. The soil in the plot was grey forest heavy loamy. The height of the test samples varied from 42 cm (F32) to 45 cm (F135), whereas the attachment height of the lower bean varied from 12 cm (F135, F32) to 14 cm (F171). The length of the bean varied from 11 cm (F135) to 15 cm (F171), therefore the forms can be suitable for both the canning industry and for freezing of fresh products. The yield of F135 early ripening green bean sample over the years ranged from 1.7 kg/m2 (2019) to 2.0 kg/m2 (2017); the yield of Nika standard ranged from 1.3 kg/m2 (2019) to 1.8 kg/m2 (2017); the yield of F171 mid-ripening variety ranged from 1.6 kg/m2 (2017) to 2.2 kg/m2 (2018); the yield of F32 mid-ripening variety ranged from 1.2 kg/m2 (2019) to 1.9 kg/m2 (2017); the yield of Solnyshko standard ranged from 1.5 kg/m2 (2019) to 2.1 kg/m2 (2017). In the promising form of F135, the protein content was 8.1%; dry matter content was 13.71%; sugar content was 2.02%; ascorbic acid content was 20.46%, which was 7%, 43%, 11%, and 26%, respectively, higher than in Nika standard variety. F32 mid-ripening form (20.31%) was identified by the content of ascorbic acid, which was significantly higher (LSD05 = 0.5%) than in Solnyshko standard (18.31%). The protein content in F171 was 7.9%, which was higher by 0.9% than in the standard. According to the results of the study, the promising F135 early-ripening and F171 mid-ripening forms were identified and transferred to the State variety testing.
