EVALUATION OF POTATO VARIETIES AND HYBRIDS ON ECONOMIC-VALUABLE CHARACTERISTICS IN THE KEMEROVO RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE – THE BRANCH OF THE SFNTSA OF THE RAS

Summary. Under conditions of Kemerovo region 241 samples of potato from the world collection of the N.I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR) and other research institutions were studied. Twenty-four samples were selected according to productivity in 2013-2015: Povin', Bryanskii Delikates, Dubrava, Yubilei Zhukava, Veteran, Chaya, Kemerovchanin, Emelya, Mangust, Tanai, Khozyayushka, Uladar, Debryansk, Bryanskii Nadezhnyi, Bylina, Korona, Goryanka, Nayada, Alvara, Obelix, Latona, 8-3-2004 (VIR), 94-5 (VIR), 99-6-5 (VIR). Stable yield (the coefficient of variation of is 11.7-17.7%) was observed in varieties Mangust, Emelya, Alvara, Tanai, Bryanskii Delikates, Bryanskii Nadezhnyi, Kemerovchanin and Korona. The samples Khozyayushka, Uladar, Bryanskii Delikates, Veteran, Goryanka, Dubrava, Debryansk, Emelya, Kemerovchanin, Korona, Mangust, Nayada, Povin', Tanai, Chaya, Yubilei Zhukava, Alvara, Latona, Obelix, 8-3-2004 (VIR), 94-5 (VIR), 99-6-5 (VIR) have complex resistance to fungal diseases. The varieties Dubrava, Kemerovchanin, Korona, Nayada, Tanai, Uladar, Alvara, Latona and hybrids 94-5, 99-6-5 are resistant to the golden nematode. Berries from self-pollination set in the varieties Kemerovchanin, Emelya, Nayada, Tanai, Alvara, Latona. The cultivars Bryanskii Delikates, Dubrava, Kemerovchanin, Emelya, Mangust, Tanai, Uladar, Korona, Nayada, Alvara and the hybrid 99-6-5 (VIR) were the best according to the complex of valuable traits. Potato varieties, selected by the complex of valuable traits, were included in the hybridization. Berries were obtained in 11 crossing combinations from 36. As a result of breeding work on hybrids from the combination Granat x Post-86 a nematode-resistant potato hybrid 14-129-08 was developed, which was passed to the state variety testing in 2015 as the Mariinskii variety.
